BobbyAnna’s budding romance is derailed when street singer Bobby becomes suddenly homeless and Anna attempts to find her a place to stay.
BobbyAnna contrasts the thrill of falling in love with the pitfalls of unexpected homelessness. Bobby is a masculine-presenting, black woman from Oakland, who moves to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. She is living out of her van, and street performing to make ends meet. One night while performing, Bobby meets Anna, a white, middle class, recent college graduate, and the chemistry between them is immediate. They spend the night together. After a walk along the Los Angeles river the following day, the two return to find Bobby’s van has been broken into, rendering Bobby homeless. The story explores the way circumstance impacts intimacy, particularly between two people attracted to someone unlike anyone they had known before.
